Solution Selector Use Parameter Disclaimer

The tankless hot water heater recommendations are based on six parameters: 2.0 GPM (7.57 LPM) mixed flow rate shower heads or comparable flow rate fixtures, simultaneous shower use or comparable flow rate fixtures entered, 120F water heater set temperature, 105F mixed flow rate, regional ground water temperature and elevations up to 2000 Ft (609.6 M). Rinnai applies your zip code (postal code) to a generic band of ground water temperature ranges which are defined as follows: 

  • NorthBand:  35-42 (1.7-5.6C) represents the following states AK, MA, ME, MI, MN, MT, RI, NY, ND, NH, VT, WI & WY in the United States.
  • MidBand:  47-52 (8.3-11.1C) represents the following states CO, CT, DC, DE, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, MO, NC, NE, NJ, NM, NV, OH, OR, PA, SD, UT, VA, WA & WV in the United States.
  • SouthBand:  57-62 (13.9-16.7C) represents the following states AL, AR, GA, AZ, CA, OK, MS, SC, TN & TX in the United States.
  • ExSouthBand:  67-77F (19.4-25C) represents the following states FL, HI, LA in the United States.
  • Canada:  35-47F (1.7-8.3C) represents the following provinces NL, PE, NS, NB, QC, ON, MB, SK, AB, BC, YT, NT, NU in Canada.

Customer has the option of using the following appliances as a “fixture” as well as a shower head: Residential grade clothes washing machine, hand sink or dishwasher. For homes having multiple body spray systems or more than five (5) showers, contact Rinnai Application Engineering Center of Excellence 1-800-621-9419 or your local installing plumber. More than five (5) simultaneous fixtures use for a single tankless model is limited to specific models and generally for the extreme south region of the United States only.  Finally, consider using low flow shower heads for higher simultaneously fixture operation. Two (2) or more tankless units may be required if operating outside the parameters established in the Owner and Operations Manual.
